Layered Salad
Stuck on what to make for the next family potluck or church social? This creamy, layered salad will be a big hit.
Ingredients
- 1 small head iceberg lettuce chopped
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 bag frozen peas 10 oz.
- 1 green pepper chopped
- 2 cups shredded carrots
- Dressing
- 3 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- Topping
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese grated
- 12 slices bacon cooked and chopped
Instructions

In a large glass bowl, layer the salad ingredients in the order they appear above. Start with a layer of iceberg on the bottom. Next cover lettuce with celery. Then add a layer of green peppers followed with a layer of peas and a layer of shredded carrots. End with a layer of lettuce.

Combine the mayonnaise and sugar in a small bowl and mix well.

Pour the dressing over the top of the salad and spread a thick layer evenly across lettuce, bringing the dressing all the way out to the edges of the bowl. Refrigerate any leftover dressing.

Sprinkle salad with cheese and chopped bacon. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
